Local storage and cookies on counflexflop.com
Short version: HICONSTRUCT LTD does not run advertising trackers on this site. We use the browser's local storage — a small piece of data kept inside your own browser — for two things: remembering whether you accepted or declined the banner, and remembering interface preferences such as the mobile navigation state, the open accordion panels, the team carousel and the expanded service tiles. Here is the detail, in the technical wording.
1. What this site actually uses
This website does not set HTTP cookies for advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking. The consent banner at the bottom of each page is controlled by the browser's Local Storage API (window.localStorage), which stores key–value pairs inside your browser rather than sending them with every request to a server. The consent value and the interface preferences described in section 4 live in that same storage.
The distinction matters technically. A cookie is sent to the web server on each page view, which means it can be read by the server that hosts the site. A local storage value stays on your device: the script on the page writes it, and the script on the page reads it back later. Nothing about your choice is transmitted to HICONSTRUCT LTD.
2. The values we store
- Key:
counflexCookieConsent - Values:
acceptedwhen you press "Accept all", ordeclinedwhen you press "Decline all". - Purpose: on your next visit the script finds this value and hides the banner, so we do not ask you the same question twice.
- Size: a few bytes. It contains no identifier, no timestamp, no IP address and no personal data.
- Lifetime: it stays until you clear it. There is no expiry date set by us, which means it survives as long as you keep the site data for this domain in your browser.
3. How the banner behaves
The banner is visible by default when a page loads. The script then checks the stored value: if counflexCookieConsent is already set to accepted, the banner is removed from the page. If the stored value is declined, the banner is also removed, because a decision has already been made. Because the banner is rendered visible in the page markup and removed by script rather than shown by script, the rest of the site keeps working even if JavaScript is unavailable — in that case the banner simply stays on screen until you dismiss it.
Both buttons write to the same key. Accepting and declining therefore have the same technical effect on this site: the banner stops appearing. There is no advertising or analytics behaviour that is switched on by accepting, because there is nothing of that kind here to switch on. The choice is stored so the question is asked once.
4. Categories in the banner
- Essential — required for the core functions of the site. This is the local storage value described above. It keeps the consent banner from repeating itself on every page.
- Functional — helps us remember your preferences and provide extended features. These are the interface behaviours on this site: the mobile navigation state, the accordion panels in the frequently asked questions, the team carousel and the expandable service tiles. They run from the page code and store only these interface choices in your own browser.
No marketing category, no analytics category and no performance category is active on counflexflop.com. There is no cross-site pixel, no social media plugin and no embedded map or video that would load third-party content when you open a page.
5. Third-party services that do load
Two external resources are requested by the browser when a page opens: the Bulma stylesheet and the font files for the Archivo, Inter and JetBrains Mono typefaces. These are served from a content delivery network and a font host, and those providers will see technical request data such as your IP address and browser type, because that is how the internet works. We do not use those providers for advertising, and we do not build profiles from that request data.
6. How to remove the stored value
You can clear it yourself at any time and nobody will be asked to email you about it. Open the developer tools of your browser, go to the storage section for counflexflop.com and delete the counflexCookieConsent entry — the banner will appear again on your next visit. Alternatively, clear all site data for this domain in your browser settings, or use the "clear cookies and site data" option while you are on the page.
If you use a private or incognito window, the value disappears with the window, which is a fast way to see the banner in its first-run state.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever add a service that stores something new in your browser, this page is updated first and the banner text changes with it. The version that applies to your visit is the one published here. Personal data that you type into a form is a different matter entirely and is covered by the privacy policy.
